Ulrika started singing as a young girl. The first singing lessons were in 4th grade with singing pedagogue Sylvia Mang Borenberg in Växjö, Sweden. With both private lessons and 1st alto in the choir of the music school, there were plans for her to be a mezzo soprano and sing classical music. The years went by, education and work implied leaving Växjö. There were periods with different singing pedagogues and choirs in Stockholm and Malmö with surroundings, e.g. Malmö Symphony Orchestra Choir.
After leaving Malmö for the countryside, she tried out other musical directions - starting by singing in King Street Gospel Choir in Hörby. A few years later she joined the barbershop choir Acappelladies in Lund and later got the possibility to join the gospel choir Rejoice also in Lund. Then she joined the Jazz Institute of Malmö to study jazz singing, and a dream of having her own jazz band evolved. Now she sings in several constellations and develop by lessons and as much practice as possible.
Jazz teachers throughout the years: Anna Weister Andersson, Lotta Allard, Ane Ramløse, Agnes Berg, Maria Hjorth and currently Vivian Buzcek. Other teachers concerning stage presence, presentation skills and vocal techniques have been Sofi Hellborg and Anna-Lena Tideman.
